Triangle Charity Information
Some year ago the club decided that we should engage in fund raising for charity.
Our charity run is annually and this year is on 28th April 2019. We are assembling from 9.00am at the Barrack Square, Martlesham Heath Business Park IP5 3RF with the run leaving at 10:30, (A Mobile catering unit will be on site for refreshments) Upon arrival a donation of £5.00 per person is willing accepted .The run itself is a rural route of 45 to 50 miles with a final destination being the Ipswich Sports Centre, Rushmere St Andrew were drinks and refreshments will be available
We usually do not want to contribute to large national charities as we felt that our relatively small donation would be lost in their accounts and it would be better to concentrate our efforts locally so that we could see we had made a difference in our own community.
In earlier years the club has supported various individual people who required help because of illness or accident etc.
In 2009 we decided to support various wards or departments at Ipswich Hospital as a way of benefiting a larger number of people with a single yearly amount and so far this has been used to buy additional equipment to help patients and nurses at Ipswich Hospital that would normally be beyond their budget.
This year 2019 we are supporting Motor Neurone Disease research in memory of Tony Alderson who we lost recently.

It was decided this year that the funds raised from the Charity Run would go to Brantham Ward which is the emergency assessment unit who require a medical reclining chair.
More info as soon as this is purchased and presented.
For the third year in a row we again raised funds for the Trauma and Orthopaedic ward in Ipswich hospital to purchase a Bladder Scanner that was desperately needed.
Once again this year we raised funds for Needham ward who needed a non-metallic scoop that would enable patients to be put into the MRI scanner with minimum movement between bed and scanner. The Ferno Ked stretcher was the piece of equipment that fitted the bill.
It was decided that this year that we would supported the Trauma and Orthopaedic ward at Ipswich Hospital. The money raised purchased at overhead mirror system so that enabled any spinal injury patients who are flat on their backs to see who is approaching.
The Triangle (Ipswich) Motor Cycle Club presented the John Le Vay Cancer Information Centre at Ipswich hospital with a special furniture display unit. The unit improves the facilities that the centre provides for patients who suffer hair loss following chemotherapy treatment.
Funds were raised by a road run on 20th September where 200 motor cyclists took part. The run started at the Orwell Crossing Truck Stop & ended at the Apollo Rooms, Harleston via a 50 mile route through Suffolk roads.
